Sharon Zimmermann, a signature member of the Watercolor U.S. A. honor society, is a very well recognized watercolor artist in the Midwest.  Beyond her BFA degree from Illinois State University she has studied watercolor with Nita Ingle, Harold Gregor and Irving Shapiro.  She has won many ‘best-of-show’ awards and been invited to show in several prestigious group shows of watercolor artists.  The juried shows she has been part of are too numerous to list.

She is also accomplished in printmaking.  She has studied printmaking with master printers Larry Hamlin, Ray George and Richard Finch.  Zimmerman is the proud owner of a Woodwind Intaglio Press at her Prairie River Studio in Argenta, IL.

On 8 wooded acres situated along Friends Creek, she lives and works in the natural setting she loves.  Zimmerman says, "The elusive interplay of color and light challenges and delights me every time I begin to paint.  In any season, I love to hike, photograph, sketch or simply sit.  I take a kind of nourishment from this natural world that does always change me and energize my brush."

Zimmerman shares her enthusiasm for painting and nature by teaching a regular schedule of workshops.  Students are delighted by her warm, caring attitude and her ability to communicate her artistic knowledge.
